Portugal – Making a Plan

In July this year, I am heading to Portugal. This is somewhere I have wanted to get to for a long time, so I decided to tag it onto another trip that I am doing. Why not, while I am in the neighborhood. The idea is to learn enough about the country, the culture, and the roads, that I can a lead group back there next year. I may need to partner with a local Motorbike Tour company but that’s ok.

This post is about setting the scene and getting feedback from the readers. There will be more posts as the planning progresses. It will be interesting to see how much of what is planned is actually done.

The first part of the Portugal experience is flying into Lisbon. There seems to be a very exciting range of activities available. If you’re heading that way check it out below.

I have some time in Lisbon itself, so maybe a sailboat ride would be a good start. If anyone has done this let me know if its worth it.

Really though I want your ideas. So let me know where I should visit, what should I do. Most importantly where are the best roads. If you were riding your motorbike through Portugal where would you go?

Places I will visiting

The planning is continuing.

Places on the list to visit include:

  • Military Museum of Bussaco
  • Carvalho
  • Almeida
  • Coimbra
  • Nazare’
  • Vimeiro
  • Pena Palace
  • Belem Tower
  • Castle of St George
  • Lisbon Cathedral
  • Marvao
  • Castle of Silves
  • Cathedral of Faro
  • Porto

Now to transform this into an epic ride!
